i still hang onto the guilt of not being there for AJ's 1st birthday. what are you talking about? you guys threw a huge bash for his 1st birthday.
i mean that i was out of town 1 year from the day of AJ's birth. i was changing jobs, so i was in Atlanta for new job training.
every year, i think about it... what kind of mother would be out of town on the anniversary of her child's birth? me...on AJ's 1st birthday. i can't believe i did that....and i left that job shortly after. makes me wonder where are my priorities?
so last wednesday...
I woke up AJ:
AJ, WAKE UP, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I love his response: What?! IT'S MY BIRTHDAY?!
i was in a really good mood... i was in a supermama mood!
you don't become supermama by sheer chance ...it takes preparation... planning... organization ...of which i screw up like everyone else.
30 goodie bags for daycare - check.
30 goodie bags for school - check.
dress up kids / drop off kids - check.
vanilla and chocolate cupcakes bought and delivered to school - check.
buy alphabet cereal for Jasmine to share with Awana class, buy candy for AJ to share with soccer team - check.
pick up kids, change AJ into soccer cleats/shin guards then chauffeur to soccer practice - check.
chauffeur kids to Awana and feed kids simultaneously -check and check [good they like vienna sausage in the can].
have kids memorize bible verses for Awana ----oops! forgot to do have kids memorize their bible verses... but Awana volunteers are very forgiving and they remembered AJ's birthday without prompting. i love Christians!
i can't remember if i fed them when we got home. it was a crazy busy day which on any other day i would have been stressed out. but not that day... it was AJ's birthday....alls i could think of was that i am a superwoman...hear me ROOOAAARRR!!!!!
my favorite memory is 11:15 am as i was walking toward his school with his birthday cupcakes. i was thinking about how cool it was that i was actually doing this..bringing birthday cupcakes for my son who is one cool kid.
i was my moment of feeling like a supermama!
