My mahal and i were both able to drop off AJ for his 1st day of 1st grade. yay!! [technically-- i think this would be his 5th 1st day of formal educational setting.. if you count 2 daycares + 2 pre-Ks]
jasmine is not going to this school yet ..but she wanted to bring her backpack ...just like his brother.

AJ is probably thinking 'why does she have to be in the picture? she's making me late!'

| We saw his school bus from daycare pull up so we stopped to take a picture. i love their daycare! |

| fyi - notice the other kid's attire. silly band bracelets and a shirt with writing on it. i get paranoid about what's appropriate for school clothes so that's why AJ wears collared shirts to school. silly bandz are the rage right now but some schools are not allowing them because they may cause a distraction. if you notice -- jasmine is all about having a cartoon character on her t-shirts. she's sporting a Helly Kitty T-Shirt. i'm guessing she will be a fashionista when she gets older. i hope that doesn't mean $$ couture clothing $$. |

drop off was less than 10 minutes. the parking lot was packed and we were told to move our car.
front of school was crazy crowded...
so we got AJ lined up for class, reminded him to look for his bus in the afternoon, and then said love you bye. that's his teacher Mrs. Stout holding up the sign for AJ's class.
i thought the 1st day would be a bit more than just dropping off your kid... but that's what it was.
there is still a lot of involvement that is expected of the parents- which i didn't expect.
i guess i still am thinking that it should be how i went to school which was > 20 yrs ago.
