trying to live fearless

i was on the verge of skipping church yesterday... so much to do...so little time.

i saw one of AJ's classmates mom's  ...i've seen her before at church but i didn't want to make it awkward so i didn't call out to her.. i even went out a different exit so i wouldn't cross paths.

our sons are in the same classroom for sunday school - so our paths did cross.  we exchanged greetings/small talk -  i talked about my 'trying to live fearless' and wanted to get more involved with AJ's classroom...and maybe i would volunteer for Awana. she was glad i was doing that because she said she wished she could live without fear.

then she called over the classroom teacher - her kids go to AJ's school also.  we exchanged emails/telephone # ...they invited me to a prayer group they hold to pray for AJ's school on thursday mornings.  how cool is that!  i told them both that it depends on my schedule.  wow.. i loved finding this out.
makes me also wonder what kind of 'classroom' mom do i want to me.

i am so encouraged!!  i left church in an awesome mood.... what if i didn't go to church yesterday? i would have missed out on networking with other moms...i would have not known that there are parents specifically praying for our kids' school...i would have missed the enouraging words from one mom to another... i would have missed expressing my desire to be more involved with the kids' school and church activities. my next step is to make my thought into action!

i am really scared of the thought of taking care/teaching other people's kids. i don't think i'm good with kids. but i've been asking myself ....what would you do if you weren't afraid?
