Every month i get a newsletter -- special group of parents who have children who are visually impaired. i haven't paid my dues but they keep sending me this newsletter.. this year i was compelled to pay the dues because they offered a discounted outing to the Zoo.
yikes! hottest day of the summer!
my mahal chose not to wear his group T-Shirt because it was so hot.
some people gawk at the shirt ...i think trying to figure out what the shirt says and maybe try to guess why we are wearing the shirt.
i personally do not like going into the city. i like being esconced in the suburbs.
i heard that lincoln park zoo is pretty spiffy nowadays... but i have no desire to go in that area.
i don't like the traffic, the parking... i feel suffocated just going into the city...like a panic attck. if i go into the city..there has to be a reason...otherwise it is not my own free will.
if it is my free will... it's because there is no china town in the 'burbs.
they have spiffed up brookfield zoo pretty nice too. beautiful beautiful. in the pic above is the domain of the elephants.
gosh... baby sister reminds me of me growing up.. always trying to pick a fight with her brother. we had to get TWO maps so that she would stop whining. i cave into her a lot cuz i can't stand the whining.
this is the beginning of our zoo adventure.
there is a sign near the fence in the background that says be careful of birds that may peck at you...very jealous territorial birds.
a bird actually swooped down and scratched my mahal with its claws.
