roses spell mahal kita

yes...mommy and daddy love each other.

last chapter in our book of love was pretty rough but we are back on the same page.

[footnote for my kids when they look back why mom was really difficult to live with in 2010:  back pain since summer 2009, confirmed  herniated L5-S1 disc nov 2009,  crazy messed up radiating nerve pain down my leg with burning and numbness that it makes you just want to want to curl up and sink into oblivion ...that is finally slowly resolving]

my mahal forgot that he doesn't give me flowers...i told him a long time ago- don't get me flowers because i won't take care of them, the flowers are just gonna die.

and this year he got me flowers for our anniversary.

i love these roses!!!!!!!!!

memories from our wedding 9 yrs ago
*the priest telling us --don't worry about the wedding details. all that matters is that you love each other and you have people that you love and that love you who will be there on your wedding day.
*forgot the candles that light the unity candle in the trunk of my car -- melted...oops.
*forgot the aisle runner in the trunk of my car....oops
*my cousin Kristine trying not to cry after getting her hair & makeup done
*my cousin Heidi drinking herself under the table...literally.
*my mahal too choked up when he was asked to say a few words at the reception

gifts that i keep in my heart
*from my kuya rico[aka kuya lito] on my dad's side:
he undid a small box he found in my parents' house-turned the box inside out and stapled it together again so that from the outside it looked like a plain box.. but i could tell it was from an old kitchen appliance. i thought that was cool. the actual gift was an old rusty looking copper vase/urn. in the urn was a letter [i think from my aunt?] which explained the origins of the vase..that it was made on our ancestors' /our family's land.  i hope my mahal doesn't throw it out...it looks like an ordinary vase to anyone else..but it is extra-ordinary to me.
*2 books re: love and marriage.  i put them away in my closet...not read for years. i knew the books were there but didn't even flip through them.  but i read the books about a year ago- i am so thankful that someone loved us so much to give these books in 2001 to me to ponder upon so many years later.

to my mahal...to answer your question: 'do you love me?'  yes, i love you.
