Yee family on board for Polar Express

this is what i have learned ...if i want my kids to experience something ...better not procrastinate on making it happen.  this polar express trip i booked it in October with our park district.
this event was packed!  christmas chaos.  loved it!!

we sat in the upper level. the santa helper decided to sit next to us so that she could project her voice downward for all to hear her read the Polar Express.
very cool.  turns out she is not a paid park district employee...just a volunteer.
i actually want to do that volunteering stuff if i ever have time.  go to events for free....I'M THERE!

enjoying the ride ....we went from the Roselle train station to Elgin ...we didn't get off the train.  Santa hopped on at the Elgin station.

had to capture her sitting quietly and attentively.  5 seconds doesn't last very long.

love it! the train conductor punching AJ's Polar Express Ticket

Santa greeted all the boys and girls.  each child received a silver bell from Santa.

AJ is ringing his silver bell he received from Santa

on the ride back, we sang christmas carols with Santa.
the Park District provided sheet lyrics, coloring sheets/puzzle sheet and crayons.
